Start with the task.
What is someone trying to do? What information do they need? I want a clear problem before a polished screen.
A LITTLE ABOUT ME
I’m Dhenu Patel, a product designer based in Atlanta, studying computer science at Georgia State University.

I love drawing on blackboards. An idea can start as a line, become something unexpected, and change again. That room to try, erase, and redraw is part of what draws me to design.
I design mobile and web experiences with a focus on clear flows, visual character, and the small interactions that make a product feel considered.
A little curiosity goes a long way.
MY STORY
I’m Dhenu, a product designer with a computer science background. I’m studying at Georgia State University, and I bring both a visual eye and an understanding of how a product gets built.
Before focusing on product design, I worked on Remix during my software engineering internship. Building the app—and refining screens along the way—gave me experience on both sides of the interface.
Now my focus is on the experience: what someone needs, what should come first, and how each screen helps them move forward. Dandy, Saanjh, and Clerkwell show different sides of that work.
Drawing on blackboards is a part of my life that I wanted to bring into this portfolio. I like the freedom to make a mark, erase it, and find a better direction. That is the spirit I bring to my work, too.
HOW I APPROACH A PROJECT
I’m early in my design career. These are the principles I’m building my practice around.
What is someone trying to do? What information do they need? I want a clear problem before a polished screen.
I look at references, try different arrangements, and ask why one direction makes the task easier.
I revise the hierarchy, wording, spacing, and interactions. I want to explain the decisions, not just show the final screen.
My engineering experience helps me consider real constraints. I aim to prototype the flow, check it on smaller screens, and test assumptions with people.
MY TOOL STACK
Different tools for different parts of the process. Open one to see where it fits.
Tools help. The decisions are mine.Layouts, components, and interactive flows.
Responsive pages and motion for the web.
Another way to explore form and visual ideas.
A partner for brainstorming, organising ideas, and reviewing my reasoning.
An additional tool for exploring ideas and asking questions.
Support for bringing ideas into working web prototypes and refining them.
Music while I work. BTS is usually close by.
Before product design / Software engineering
During my software engineering internship in summer 2025, I implemented Remix and helped ship it to TestFlight. It’s a social styling app for creating outfits and sharing them with friends. I also refined several screens, including signup and login.
My contribution was app implementation and those screen refinements. The app’s original product design was created by the team’s designer.
A foundation in making things work.

A little note, a new beginning.
